COVID-19 Safety Measures

Dear Patient,

We hope this letter finds you happy and healthy. We want to take a moment to remind you that our top priority is always your health, safety and well-being. As we continue to keep our office open, we do so with caution and after such hard work and preparation for preventing the spread of infection.

We are vigilant in monitoring the recommendations of the Center for Disease Control (CDC) and the American Dental Association (ADA) for infection control relating to COVID-19. We are confident that our increased protocols go above and beyond those recommendations to keep you safe.

We are committed to implementing safety protocol and in addition to our existing measures, you should anticipate the following protective efforts when you enter our dental office:

  • All patients answer a screening questionnaire prior to arrival. Appointments will be rescheduled if risk of patient transmission of illness, including COVID-19, has been determined. If you have an illness or are exhibiting symptoms, we recommend you cancel and reschedule your dental appointment. Some illness and symptoms include:

  • a cold or the flu
  • fever or nausea
  • severe headaches or body aches
  • muscle or stomach pain, chest pain or difficulty breathing
  • vomiting or diarrhea
  • active tuberculosis (TB)
  • mumps, measles, chickenpox
  • other contagious disease

If you are healthy, there’s no need to cancel your regularly scheduled dental appointment.

  • Face masks and gloves properly worn by our office staff.
  • Increased efforts to disinfect throughout our office and reception area. Wiping down touch screens and credit card machines after each use and regularly disinfecting bathrooms, furniture, counters, doors and handles.
  • Increased disinfecting protocol in our exam rooms including disposable plastic wrap changed between patients, all surfaces disinfected with a chemical germicide between each patient.
  • Improved air filtration in the HVAC system to remove germs from the air utilizing a True HEPA filtration system.
  • Increased PPE for all staff who provide dental care, including gowns, face shields and N95 masks approved by the FDA.
  • Aerosol control through High Volume Evacuation (HVE) during dental procedures using the DryShield Isolation System, which helps remove at least 90% of aerosols created during procedures.
  • Additional high-performance air filtration and aerosol control from InvisiClean Air Purifiers (True HEPA & Carbon filtration, air ionization plus UV-C light disinfection) stationed throughout the office.

In addition to our efforts, we ask for your cooperation and support with the following temporary safety measures as we work through this ever changing situation:

  • Wear a mask before entering the office and maintain social distancing practices while in the office, including with our office staff.
  • Wait in your car upon arrival, if possible. Give us a call to let us know you've arrived and we will notify you when we are ready for you to come in.
  • Immediately use the hand sanitizer from our touch-free dispenser upon entering the office.
  • Have your temperature taken by one of our receptionists.
  • Perform a 1-minute swish with a hydrogen peroxide rinse dispensed chairside.
  • Please do not bring friends or relatives to the office who do not have scheduled appointments.  Only scheduled patients will be allowed in the treatment and common areas, with the exception of a minor accompanied by their parent/guardian or an individual accompanied by their caregiver.

Thank you for your patience and flexibility as we all work towards improving in-office measures and keeping you and your family safe and healthy!
